Puzzling quest for the 'weight' of the moment and the physical state of decision-making.
Weight is a series of four short films. Each is based on an excerpt from literary fiction. They demonstrate the subtle tension that precedes a key moment in the plot, an essence without function.
Our sources are based upon a very broad scope of international literary works, from such writers as Albert Camus, Haruki Murakami and Sandor Marai. The selected fragments from these works will serve directly as the scenario for the films. We are looking for moments of subtle tension that precede a significant event in the plot. We look for the moment, before the moment.
Out of the context of the original story these fragments are enigmatic, but they retain the same tension inherent to their former position. As these fragments start to interact on a suggestive level a new, highly tension charged story will emerge.
